Personal thread time. As some of you know, I received a diagnosis of ADD in the middle of this year. It's been a real problem for about 20 years. Essentially, it robbed me of a lot - professionally, personally, cognitively. /1
Recently, I moved to Germany, as I've talked much about. Being in a new city, as well as being prescribed Ritalin, has had an enormous effect on me. I've got appropriate executive function for the first time ever! /2
What does this mean? I can organise myself effectively. I can complete tasks in a timely fashion. I can keep track of time.
This has also meant that my mood is consistently elevated from what it was. I'm social again - consistently social for the first time in 20 years. /3

This has its own challenges: How do you deal with the ability to go out, hang out with people, explore a new(ish) city after 20 years of being, miserable, impaired?
It's something I've had think a lot about. In fact, it's a real trip. I've had to learn new skills quickly. /4
