Some real shit.
Things have taken a turn in the last few days. China's aggressive entrance into "blockchain" has the industry's engines revving.
Some have argued that all adoption is good. But that brings up some questions about adoption...
The idea of adoption being good for the industry as a whole presumes there is some connection point between what are effectively wildly different goals that happen to use a similar technology.
As in...
Of course, I'm not talking about monetary costs but moral ones. How do we reconcile authoritarian governments using the underlying technology of anti-authoritarian tools to extend control?
On the "on what cost" question....The issue of how we reconcile the parts of China we don't like with the parts we do is an open question that is much, much bigger than crypto. With these new moves, however, we've got to deal with it more than ever.
But goddamn if we don't need to define our terms when we're talking about them.
