ATTENTION: This is terrifying. TRAC (@TRACReports) has been the most important data & analysis resource on immigration cases & detention. This month they noticed “serious inconsistencies” making data requested unusable. Immigration authorities *refuse to cooperate to clear up.* 
After reviewing the flawed response to routine FOIA request: “TRAC alerted the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) to the problems uncovered, & attempted to work with the agency. EOIR declined to provide any assurances of the accuracy of the data it had provided.”
“The issues w/ EOIR’s data inconsistencies [are] substantive, ongoing, & in need of prompt attention. Of greatest concern is the apparent lack of commitment to ensure the public is provided with accurate & reliable data” on US immigration proceedings.
“It is deeply troubling that rather than work cooperatively to clear up the reasons for these unexplained discrepancies, the agency has decided to dig in its heals & insist the public is not entitled to have answers.” Deeply troubling indeed.
