The consequence of @michaelgove’s promises 2 and 3, if meaningful*, is that a FTA with the US will either be impossible or very limited (so can’t begin to compensate for worsening our terms of trade with the EU).
*Promising “food standards won’t fall” doesn’t of course rule out accepting US standards on eg hormones and GMOs and claiming (as the US does) that they are consistent with very high standards. The question should be put more precisely: will we accept US rules on hormones/GMOs?
*Promising “drug prices won’t rise” doesn’t rule out accepting US asks on reforming the pharmaceutical price regulation scheme and then claiming that the deal will somehow lead to cheaper drugs.
