/ Hey @lyft, I use y'all all the time and almost always have good experiences. Today was, um, not that. Headed to airport, driver running up on other cars' tails, way too close, probably a half-car distance behind them. Finally I thought we were going to wreck...(read on)...
/ Scared, I blurted out "holy shit!" Driver turned around, surprised anything was wrong and asked "what?" I said, "you're just running up close on people's asses and it's sorta scaring the shit out of me." Ok, not super articulate but ya know, being honest...(read on)...
/ She gets defensive and says "don't cuss me, I don't appreciate that kind of language." I'm like, really? My language is the problem? Scared people don't often think to themselves, gee let me use my church voice...(oh keep reading it gets better)...
/ We go back & forth as she insists she did nothing wrong, and I insist I was afraid and that's all that matters here. She says "well I'm afraid of you!" For WHAT? Complaining about your driving? I didn't raise my voice or anything. Just expressed my concern...(here it comes)...
/ She says, "I can end this ride and put you out." Mind you: we are now on the interstate in rush hour traffic. About 2.5 miles from the airport. I reply, "I know you could, but seriously, if you do that, I'm pretty confident you won't be driving for Lyft much longer"...
/ She then says "that's it" and puts me out on the interstate. Endangering my life because I insulted her driving and told her, perfectly legitimately, that if she did that it wouldn't be a great career move. Walked a 1/2 mile to the next exit, got shuttle ride from a hotel...
/ Now, the good news is that your customer service and safety team person was great. She was very sympathetic and seemed genuinely outraged that one of your drivers would do this. So, A+ on that. (But, caveat coming)...
/ I then get an email from the same person, again, very sympathetic, informing me that I'll be refunded of course (cool), but that the only other action is that I "won't be paired with that driver again..." Um, what???...Not good enough...she endangered a passenger's life...
/ She needs to be banned from the platform entirely. I will not name her here, as it is not necessary and y'all know who she is already. It's in my ride history. Perhaps this is an HR thing, and you can't publicly acknowledge more drastic action against drivers. But seriously?..
/ This kind of driver behavior is dangerous and she needs to be removed from the driver queue altogether. Handle your business @Lyft. Please and thank you...
