Chairman Schiff: "Let me get to the top line here, Ambassador Sondland."

That's the White House meeting being a quid pro quo in exchange for investigations.

"Correct," Sondland said.

Q: And everybody knew it.
A: Correct.
Schiff goes through the statutory language, reciting the elements of bribery: an "official act" in return for a "thing of value."

"[Ukrainian President Zelensky] had to announce the investigations. He didn't actually have to do them."

Trump insists he requested these investigations because of his concerns about corruption in Ukraine, not for political gain.
