By the end of World War II, Oskar Schindler had saved the lives of over 1,200 Jews from Naziism. At the end of his incredible life, British humanitarian James Le Mesurier's work with the White Helmets saved the lives of 50,000+ Syrians from Assad's bombs.
It is a testament to his legacy that Vladimir Putin has spent so much Russian taxpayer money on trying to attack and discredit James, and those that fulfill that role in the Western media are no different to Hitler's Nazi apologists in the 1940s.
James was my friend, many of us are still mourning his loss. It's hard to scroll past old messages without breaking down in tears.

When history books are written, James will be remembered and honoured as a selfless hero. Max Blumenthal, Matt Taibbi and Katie Halper will not be remembered, but sidenotes in dusty books will condemn them amongst the litany of mass murder revisionists that follow every conflict
