Attempting punishment without addressing the underlying issues of patriarchy & the fetishization of sexual violence/harassment will never end the behavior. Primarily cis men need to be taught how to handle their desired & communicate for one.
Further, young women & others who receive these need to be taught how to respond forcefully & without fear to ensure people sending such pics do not take silence or uncomfortable responses as positive reinforcement.
This isn’t to blame anyone but the perpetrators of course, but we don’t end harm by encouraging more harm. I refuse to engage with any prison industrial complex approach to addressing this social issue.
