[Thread] 1/ the copy and paste pro-Tory NHS brigade seem to be back. There's a new copy and paste status going round denouncing those who blame NHS troubles on those 'abusing' it. It's on Facebook and Twitter, not quite sure about the scale of it yet but see screenshots below
2/ You can see even from a cursory glance that the Facebook statuses are being shared extensively. It is interesting that this viral method of copy and pasting seems to be reserved mostly for pro-Conservative NHS related posts. This one is obviously paving the way for lowering
3/ expectations about the NHS. via @SarahRosemary3 and @soapachu
@SarahRosemary3 @soapachu 4/ here is a brief scroll on Facebook to see some of the copy and pasted posts. It's not comprehensive as Facebook's search feature seems a little inconsistent. But clearly this neoliberal, "NHS failures are the fault of the individual", shtick is being disseminated fast
5/ Evidently Twitter's algorithm doesn't like it when accounts paste the same propaganda. It has restricted all but one of the accounts that have shared the text on Twitter #NHSNotforSale
6/ To add to all the mayhem, some have already identified a similar post. "posted by a London ambulance driver". This one has a similar trope, blames people for abusing the NHS... It's on Facebook on Twitter. #CopyAndPastePolitics
7/ Whatever or whomever is behind sharing these NHS posts. They have a commonality, they all rely on anecdotal evidence from some anonymous person (who may or may not exist - doesn't matter). This is not-fact based, you know, because we are sick of experts.
8/ I spent time googling non-conveyance rates in ambulances (this is when ambulances take calls and the person is not transported to hospitals). A complicated area, but for those curious about non-emotive anecdotes, you can read a study here aace.org.uk/wp-content/upl…
9/ Whether organic or not (I'd imagine it's both) - the common denominator in these viral stories appears to be the relatability offered by the personal aspect. These 'insider' views also assuage people's guilt because they believe their unsympathetic views are validated
