My view on Australia burning: that human-caused global warming will lead to heat and wildfire crises in Australia has been abundantly clear for a long time. This IPCC statement is just one example. “Virtually certain” means more than 99% likely in IPCC language. 
Any responsible government in this situation would do all it possibly can
1. to reduce CO2 emissions at home
2. to make sure others do the same by making the Paris Accord work
3. to be prepared for extreme events.

Australian government did none of that. Instead, they
1. tolerated blatantly irresponsible science denial in their ranks
2. tried to fool Australians with pretend climate policy
3. sabotaged the Paris Accord in Madrid even while the Gospers 🔥 was raging.
