Don't want to overreact because we've seen false reports of us taking out Soleimani before, but this would be the biggest win in the war on terror since at least the Bin Laden raid.

Can't think of one person in the Middle East who is responsible for more American deaths than QS.
P.s. If QS was even in the convoy, our forces and Israel should prepare for retaliatory attacks over the days to come.

Let's pray the news is accurate and everyone remains safe.

So I have some thoughts on this thread.

Especially relative to the seemingly contradictory Reuters report from Reuters this morning: reuters.com/article/us-ira…
Reuters report has several specifics that suggest strong evidence of imminent and increased attacks on US, especially coupled with attacks we have witnessed over the last month + Soleimani's recent public threats + intel even acknowledged in RC's thread (seeking K's approval!).
So why the seeming contradiction and downplaying in Rukimi's thread?

IMO Rukimi to indisputably be one of the top ISIS reporters in the country. She has excellent sources focused on those efforts. In this particular, that also happens to create a set of biases that are in play.

The really frustrating part of the reaction over the last 2 days is, whether intentionally or not, it encourages Iranian action.

If they see a united front, they have no choice but to back off. But seeing people blame us for defending against their aggression encourages more.
When they see leading Presidential candidates parroting propoganda suggesting that taking out Soleimani was illegal or wrong, that shows them division they will think they can exploit. Let's hope they realize the consequences of further aggression will far exceed the rhetoric.
The way you get to war is miscalculation. You encourage such miscalculation by suggesting we are so scared of war and reluctant to engage them that there is no line they cannot cross because we will just take it.

I know that the press is generally completely ignorant on foreign policy issues, but the extent to which they are simply parroting partisan talking points and insisting they represent a consensus right now is genuinely shocking.
Like what convinced outlets that the whole “Trump doesn’t have Congressional authorization to take out the head of a designated terrorist group operating and planning attacks in a country where US troops are lawfully engaged” was a good point that should be uncritically repeated?
How do they present claims about us likely starting a war (the least likely outcome btw) without presenting the context of escalating Iranian attacks specifically led by Soleimani on our troops and allies over preceding months?

1.) We might actually have peace in the Middle East if #Iran and corrupt #Iraq government stands down and abdicates their positions. Good news is this should in fact scare the living sh*t out of everyone and will result in a suicide mission if #Khomeini wants to get silly.
2.) Looks like by the end of 2020 we might actually have full blown peace everywhere between #Iran, #Iraq, #Israel & #SaudiArabia. That'd be quite the feather in the 2020 election cap if @realDonaldTrump can pull it off.
3.) This also ties into the billions of dollars #Obama gave the #Khomeini on cash pallets where shipments of the cash were found missing. Once Khomeni is out and a democratic #Iran is in place THEN you free up the funds for the Iranian PEOPLE! #MIGA #Qanon
