In all these Tweets about begging for permission from a guy’s wife to make buying decisions, does anyone remember when women lost their shít over this commercial?
I wrote a post about this when it came out:
therationalmale.com/2012/11/16/gli…
Why do you suppose women were livid with the candid depictions of the real wives in this commercial? Because, while most women proudly broadcast that they are the real decision makers in their marriages, and while most men acquiesce to her frame, women hate to play that role.
They instinctually feel that their husband ought to hold the dominant Frame in the marriage, but because they married a Beta they will never trust him, never feel secure in his directing her life or their children’s lives. Most men are Beta, this is why women control the finances
In her Frame, a man making a purchase for himself is something he should ask permission for. If he defies this Frame and buys it anyway it’s tantamount to a power grab on his part. And if she doesn’t trust his judgement her security is threatened too. So she turns into a ‘bitch’.
And for as much as women try to own that word, bitch still registers as a failure in their heads when it comes to the men they’ve paired with. If she turns into a bitch it’s a reminder that it was necessary because she married a guy who wasn’t “the best she could get”.
She must become the bitch because she was unable to optimize Hypergamy and pair with a man whose Frame she does trust. Whose Frame she willingly follows. She becomes the bitch because she married a man who necessitates her being controlling to ensure her own security.
