Hitachi Rail are cutting up to 250 employees, having completed a huge long-term order. They claim it's nothing to do with Brexit. hitachirail-eu.com/announcement
And here's Hitachi Rail in 2017, warning that Brexit would cause them problems in a couple of years, after it finished a massive contract (ie the one they have now just wrapped up)

So it's clearly the usual "why alienate half our customers" PR fluff now.

You see, there's no mileage in blaming Brexit once the die is cast. Doing so can no longer influence the situation since the decision to cut jobs has already been made.

(Same story for many of the car companies. Warned and warned and warned about Brexit, then clammed up.)
