(1) As tweeted earlier, we have a significant UPDATE on our film #UNFIT. The #1 goal of the film was always to put forth discussion of his pathology, get it firmly into the public narrative, using voices of those most qualified to assess, AND to make an ACTUAL difference! (more)
(2) To make an actual difference the film needed to speak truth and science, and be good enough to secure real distribution. It had to be both informational and entertaining - doctors would be featured, and pathology discussed, BUT it had to be more than talking heads - much more
(3) - the film needed to cover the ripple effects of Trump - the upending of societal norms, and the impact of Trumpism (aka Malignant Normality). And, the film also needed to be extremely professional, with clips (licensed), graphics, animation, and tight, crisp editing. (more)
(4) We also wanted to make a film that had a chance to draw across the aisle. We know many are dubious that "the right" will watch. We think there is a segment that will. We interviewed noted Republicans, prioritized science over politics, objectivity over partisanship. Finally-
(5) - we also had to consider timing to make the biggest impact. None of us has a crystal ball. The news cycle is emotionally taxing. Had the film been released earlier, it may have been drowned out. His disorders - now more evident to more Americans since the impeachment. (more)
(6) Here's the latest: This past weekend, the Duty To Warn team completed and reviewed what we call a "second rough cut" of the entire film. We concluded it is good enough and ready enough to be screened by select agents and distributors with an eye toward release. (more)
(7) Screenings are now being set up. Note: The film is not 100% complete - nuances, clearances, closing credits - but the content is in place and we are pleased. Hopefully you will be pleased when you watch it. Hopefully it will resonate and … MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE. (more)
