BREAKING: Experts from China’s CDC in Guangdong now published a Jan 25th report that new #coronavirus has “higher pandemic risk than SARS”!!! They based it on R0 analysis from new data vs SARS. This is quite alarming if true. biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 
2) Here is China’s Guangdong CDC’s graph directly comparing R0 of the new 2019-nCoV with SARS during initial outbreak (using two approaches). “R values of 2019-nCoV were 2.90 & 2.92... while the corresponding R values of SARS-CoV were 1.77 & 1.85” (from biorxiv.org/content/10.110…)
3) How is SARS most different from the new #coronavirus? SARS was never contagious when someone had no symptoms. But the new #WuhanCoronavirus **can be transmitted** even when no symptoms! The former US FDA Commissioner Dr Scott Gottlieb confirms it.

5) CONFLICTING R0 NUMBERS: Lots of conflicting reports of Wuhan #coronarovirus R0 (reproductive number) — not all the R0 estimates are the same! The @MRC_Outbreak’s R0=2.6 is the most reliable since they used WHO data as @WHO research center. Most other used generic online data.

FOLKS— I say it’s high time that @WHO finally declares an 🚨 EMERGENCY ASAP for #coronavirus. Last Thursday Jan 23rd when WHO punted, there wasn’t much data. Since then, a ground swell of data all point to an impending global pandemic. Top experts agree. Let’s make @WHO hear it!

13) I was advocating on @CGTNOfficial to China last Tuesday Jan 21st that China needed to act fast in the interest of public health to contain the #coronavirus epidemic and report the numbers swiftly. Fell on deaf ears, I was just a lowly TV pundit on other side of globe 🌎
14) I then further urged 2 days later last week on CGTN America on Thurs night of Jan 23rd for #coronavirus data. There was still nothing out on R0 reproductive # at airtime because the CCP govt was so slow releasing data. Hence also no WHO🚨action then either. Data saves lives!
