The entire region of Idlib was freed except Kafarya and Al Fu’ah.

We couldn’t believe it. Our happiness at the time filled every inch of our bones, and we had the hope that, soon, all of Syria will be free.

In 2019, we had two exoduses. The first was in September, after the regime took over Khan Shaykhun. And just like before, we also didn’t expect to ever return to Muuarah. The regime told us that they will not give up and will seize more of the freed Idlib. But then,

we returned to our homes.

And in the month of May in 2019 our house was bombed by the Syrian warplanes and then I lost my aunt and my family was all injured and we lost our house
The second was last December. We knew that was it.

We knew that our turn to leave our homes had come.

Perhaps this time, it’s different than the ones in the past. But, we still have the hope that we will return. We have the hope that nothing is impossible for God. We hope that the day for every oppressor will eventually come

Despite all the massacres we went through, Muuarah. And despite the pain we had to endure, we never thought of leaving you.

We are people with a simple right.
We are the people of this land.
A day will come when Assad and Putin will go to hell to burn
