THREAD

With the airing of @ewarren's new NH ad in which I appear, I'm getting gentle (& not-so-gentle) pushback from some Bernie folks. So, for anyone who's interested, I'd like summarize why I decided to back a different progressive candidate this cycle. 1/
#AllOfUs4Warren
Not surprisingly, this decision resulted from a combination of factors, but in early 2019, when I reflected as soberly as possible (largely putting aside emotion) & considered how things had changed since 2016, I decided that EW would be a more effective executive/manager. 2/
Since well before running for office, @ewarren has backed up her public rhetoric with strategic, effective action & advocacy. Her myriad plans show us not just where we should go, but provide detailed road maps of how we’ll get there. 3/
And another thing ... one perk of being an active NH voter (which I am NOT saying we deserve, & recognize the myriad valid criticisms of NH & Iowa going first) is that you get a very early, up-close glimpse into just HOW a candidate will build and manage their organization. 4/
In early 2019, I had contact with ~5 campaigns, & the @NHforWarren people were consistently the most responsive, organized, & professional of them all . . . by a lot. While that didn't necessarily seal the deal for me, it was a valuable lesson … 5/
… in that it shows how respective candidates would assemble their teams for the general election, and - most importantly - how they would staff their administration once they assume office. 6/
I still admire and respect Bernie Sanders. I am grateful to him for his lifetime commitment to progressive values and policies. Having worked for him then, and knowing @ewarren now, I just happen to believe she is the better choice at this critical historical moment. /7
I applaud anyone who is passionate about a candidate and who works hard every day to help propel their candidate to victory. What I didn't understand in 2016 and don't understand now is why it makes any sense to vilify & marginalize ideological allies who don't agree 100%. /8
There is no such thing as a perfect candidate. But, we all still have the privilege of participating in this democracy & lifting up our candidate. If you believe that much in your candidate, why tear down others?

/9
I'm ready for big, structural, progressive, UNIFIED change.

Are you? 10/10
