Towards the end of December, I started to wonder about my life on Twitter (if it can be called such) and whether I had outlived my usefulness of this site, since it had taken up about 3 years of my life.
I considered a lot of things I had accomplished. I made connections with people I never would have expected, including journalists, celebrities (music / acting) and politicians.

If you had told me 5 years ago I'd be doing this, I'd say "who's Trump? Never heard of him."
It's come a long time but I think at the end of the Durham investigation, regardless of which direction it goes in, I'm going to delete my Twitter account. The constant back-and-forth, which always emanates from the same accounts, is too ridiculous.
I thought by now, something would have changed, but instead it has gotten worse, and ultimately it's just something that I now view as a waste of time. I have my own actual life to think about, and I'm sure other people can agree with that.
It's always the exact same verified accounts, the same celebrities, the same companies saying "Orange Man Bad" that I feel Twitter should be renamed Ouroboros, because it's constantly eating itself.
I think it's pretty obvious to my "long time readers" (again, I'm literally just a dude sat behind a computer) that my interest in researching topics has dwindled, probably around the time I released "Spyfall" the book. It happens.
Ultimately, I found myself going through some kind of "character development" arc in real life, where my 2020 self has somehow merged my pre-2016 self with my post-2016, truly accepting who I am and able to joke about the world's insanity again in real time.
There are plenty of people who have "taken up the slack" of researching the world's insanity, and there are plenty of people who do threads about random events at this point. My account exists as a glorified shitposter at this stage, aside from the random Medium posts.
I developed no sources, got zero true insights and ultimately my efforts could be described as "if a tree fell in the woods and nobody was around, would it make a sound?" Sure, people'll be disappointed when this account goes, but honestly you'd forget it in 1 weeks time.
That's Twitter, that's how it works. Katie Hopkins was suspended, she had about 1 million people following her. pewdiepie deleted his account. Twitter accounts are removed / deleted all the time.
"You said this last time and then you came back!!" Ah, yes, but last time I kept my account active, but I won't be making the same mistake twice. As such, I would recommend everybody make archive versions of my Twitter tweets / threads if needed. There will be no return.
If anybody wants to directly prove me wrong, feel free, but I think it'd have to be something pretty major to keep me on Twitter after Durham's investigation ends.

I'm just into other things now, I'm ready to just enjoy life outside of political insanity.
I mean, sure, I made a lot of Twitter threads back in the old days (2017 is the old days now), and I got recognised by a few influential Twitter people during that time (Imperator Rex [banned], Nick Falco [where'd he go?], Conservative Treehouse), et cetera.
Somehow everybody is still arguing over the nature of Spygate and whether people are corrupt and whatever. My personal involvement is to find out how right or wrong I was. That's why the end of Durham's investigation is good place for me to call it complete.
There is nothing else after Durham. No further secret DOJ investigations or whatever. And even if there was, it's just soap opera bullshit at this point. I'd just consider it fake. It'd be like watching CSI take down a serial killer only to learn that he was being manipulated.
The world is changing. But quite frankly, I don't need a Twitter profile to tell me that. I'll live it.

Also, Twitter's bonkers. What's with the O'Keefe suspension and whatever? You can't create a social media company and then ban people, that's a social engineering company.
