That video of the woman in a reclined seat on a plane and the man in the seat behind her punching her chair:

1. He’s a piece of shit
2. He’d never do that to a male passenger
3. Men are socialized into owning public space.
5. This is what happens when a woman owns it
This is not a “both sides” situation:

1. If it’s wrong to recline, seats wouldn’t recline
2. I’ve been in that last row that doesn’t recline.
3. Sometimes it’s just too fucking bad.
4. He’s punishing her for it.
5. Because he believes he has the right to.
Cis men HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA what it is to walk through - or just recline in this case - the world as a woman, cis or trans.

NO FUCKING IDEA.

It’s like we occupy parallel universes.

And you see it encapsulated like that video does and still you hear “Yeah but how dare she.”

In these days, Megatokyo was still popular (I would like to apologise on behalf of all 00s kids for that)
Penny Arcade and CAD had dominated the webcomic scape with "gamer humor" (Loss was still years away at this point) and in terms of overarching webcomic epics; Order of the Stick was probably at the top of the pile; serving as critical role before critical role.
