Yes, the correct answer was Ludwig Erhard...
Ludwig was a major supporter of our membership of the EEC. He didn't believe that a political union of Europe could exclude the UK. After his belief was reported in the Daily Mirror, ever reader was sworn to silence so that this 'secret elitist political union' didn't get out. 🙄
So today's question is quite simple:

In what year did Edward Heath win an award from a German foundation for his 'services towards the political unification of Europe'?

OK, time to explain to @Number10press what this slide meant.

It's quite scare people didn't understand this, especially Number 10.
This was a slide for a presentation to the Council. This is significant, because Michel Barnier does not have the authority to tell the Council what is on offer.
The negotiating directives for any deal would have to be agreed by the Council as per Article 118 of the TFEU

OK, so the answer was 10,8 million, with the highest individual show ratings in 1975 (that I'm aware of) going to the first of two Harold Wilson and Margaret Thatcher 'Talk-ins'. They managed 12.4 million.

And they sound...just dreadful.

So another question...
Some people apparently have had a weird thing of looking at treaty changes to establish if Jean Monnet was trying to hide his plans for a United States of Europe.
Other, like me, use a more scientific approach of referring to the huge press conference Monnet called on the 20th anniversary of VE day to announce the publishing of his blueprint for a United States of Europe to the whole world.
This leads us to the opinion it wasn't a secret.

OK, I'm really going to try and get a mega history thread out this week. Since it's involved a lot of work and I have to be concise, some things haven't made the cut, so I thought I'd hold a quiz every day until I publish...
Over the years, many have suggested to me that Ted Heath claimed there would be no loss of sovereignty, but here he is in the 1975 Oxford debate talking clearly about contributing it.

Some, on seeing this, have claimed the viewing figures would have been low for various reasons
So the question is: According to the BBC's audience research, how many viewers saw Ted Heath making this statement about sovereignty?

1. I’ve been a leaver since about 2007, I still am, I want to
leave the political union of Europe in a well-managed way; but I don’t want a no deal/Brexit at any cost.
2. I voted leave in the belief of the range of promises and
assertions that the Norway (EFTA) model, once promoted by Thatcher, Gove,
Johnson and Farage. We were told we’d have all the cards, there’d be no downsides and that a free trade deal would be easy.
3. The last 3 years have shown us this is not the case and
today we start the slide into a recession of our own making.

Lots of people correctly pointing out that I should have mentioned Russia and campaign spending violations in my Brexit ‘megathread’. Think I didn’t because, while it clearly matters, I don’t think it changed the result. Bear with me. 1/
We know two things for certain. Russia interfered and Vote Leave spent over its limits by channelling money to a front campaign called BeLeave. 2/
So we have evidence of criminality from two parties that had motive, means and opportunity - Russia on one hand and the Leave campaign on the other. 3/
