LEADERSHIP IS A GREAT BURDEN

The Prophet (SAW) said, with regards to leadership:

"You are eager for leadership and it is truly a regret and a sorrow on the Day of Judgement,..." (reported by Ibn Hibban).
He (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) also said:

"O Abu Dharr, you are weak, and it is an 'Amanah (trust), and on the Day of Judgement it will be a disgrace and a regret except (for those) who take it by its right and perform its duties correctly" (Saheeh Muslim).
Leadership is never a leisure, not a money-making venture. It is not a business that you invest in, so that you get a return & make profits. Far from that. In Islaam, it is a position of trust & enormous responsibilities.

REVENGE OR FORGIVE?

We are not all equal, & Allah (SWT) didn't create us so. We differ in size, shape, origin & quality. Thus, what Hidima can tolerate may not be tolerated by you & vice versa. This is just human. Among the attributes of man, patience is a virtue Allah loves.
He (SWT) Has at several places Has commended the patient ones & Has described how he loves them. Attributes generally, as classified by scholars fall under two categories. Either those that are Absolutely Commendable, or those that are commendable at times, condemnable at times.
Patience, however, is an attribute that is always commendable.

Despite that, due to the perfect Justice of Allah (SWT), He permits revenge. This is so, because it is not everyone that can be patient at all times. Some people ll rather spit it out than hold it & hurt inside.

WHAT ISLAM SAYS ON CONCEALING PEOPLE'S SINS

Nobody is free from sins & faults, except the Prophets of Allaah (peace be upon them). Thus, the concept of "ismah" (absolute reverence) can't be found in any of us. However, trying to always be pure of sins is a must to all of us.
People sin everyday & at different degrees of sins. Some sins like Shirk are so dangerous that they can take one out of the fold of Islam, some are not as grievous yet they attract the punishment of Allaah (SWT). Thus, sinning in whatever form is something we must strive against.
As Muslims, our responsibilities to one another is to remind each other about good & evil, call people to the path of Allaah while striving on our own to be better Muslims. Allah didn't place us as record keepers of the activities of people, nor judges over His servants.

Like announced, I'll start a thread on the symbolism of the (in)famous black & white banner in #Islam. This comprehensive thread will explore its historical origins and cover a list of its contemporary users from a neutral #academic point of view. Not for the faint of heart. 😄
As a political leader & head of a growing religious community, the #prophet Muḥammad used to fly a banner (liwāʾ) and a flag (rāya). The difference? According to the #dictionary, a banner is "a long piece of cloth" while a flag is "a piece of cloth that represents a group."
The Companion Ibn al-ʿArabī was quoted in Fatḥ al-Bārī (6/147) as saying: "A banner is what is tied to the side of a spear to rally around, while a flag is that which is planted and left to be waved by the wind."
