Norwich, UK. Award winning, low energy, low build cost, high density social housing 1/
Mid-rise, high-density housing in the Netherlands with safe streets, places to sit, spaces to play, priority for walking & cycling 2/
Cycle lanes in Copenhagen, city circulation without congestion through incremental low-cost investment in cycling infrastructure
Vibrant, sustainable cities prioritise mixed communities for families with good size homes, amenities, schools, services & child-care (Vancouver) 4/
Climate change is an opportunity to re-imagine how we live. Copenhagen will be carbon neutral 25 years ahead of target
If we don’t prioritise quality, sustainability & affordability... we won’t get quality, sustainability or affordability (Birmingham)
Communitues for people, not cars. Higher-density doesn’t have to be high-rise. Ranelagh/Rathmines in Dublin has 45 homes/hectare (up to twice that of car-commuter estates), & dense enough to support shops, services, public transport (vid: Netherlands)
