It’s no longer gist that I drove uber and ran a fleet.

When we started all the cars had to have hackney permits. We all did.

@UberNigeria removed the requirement and people saved their money.

Since the nice lady Country Manager left Uber has been on a downward spiral.

The Uber issues you see today are really Uber’s fault.

Let me do a small list.

There used to be a skills test, to confirm the drivers could use electronic devices and navigate maps.

Test removed.

There used to be a psychometric test to ensure drivers weren’t moving mad with criminal tendencies

Test removed.

There used to be a city test to ensure you recognized a few landmarks in the city.

Test removed.

The drivers license was the accepted document for driving ... Uber started accepting Learners permits.

I can do a litany of things Uber didn’t do well, it is my opinion that in an effort to ‘Uberize Nigeria we Nigerianized @uber. ‘

Once Cash came in as a response to Fx fluctuations it was all downhill from there.

We used to have weekly promos encouraging people to drive and drive well.

Every week there was a list of best drivers in the city based on their ratings.

All that was removed. So there’s no reward/or recognition for being a good driver or having a neat car

Our dear @UberNigeria refused to meet with FAAN to allow pickups at the airport in Abuja.

But an airport trip is the only sensible way to make money.

So every time an uber gets caught in the airport he gets a beating and a bill (minimum 20k)

So please I know govt is misbehaving but @uber has as much fault here.

PS. I have sold all my fleet cars so this is not solicitation. I still have a profile so I can drive if I want.
