Unfortunately, research by @Gallup has found that many Europeans do not wash their hands after the toilet, with rates as low as 50% in Netherlands and 57% in Italy

It's thought to be higher in countries with large Muslim populations, due to traditional washing rituals in Islam (also Sikhism).
The stats are self-reported, and it's possible the Dutch figure is low because they are brutally honest.
It is higher among older people: 14.8% among the over-80s, and 8% among those aged 70-79.
