This is your daily pension announcement: All hail the miraculous budget edition! It's miraculous because it would take a miracle for any of its projections to actually come true... Read more here: #ABLeg #handsoffmypension

I was in the House for the reading of the budget speech and the ensuing melee. I also met the writer of the blog above (David Climenhaga). I entirely concur with his observation that the Legislature is once again lousy with corporate lobbyists of all stripes. #weareback
The speech itself was short on any details. No pension announcements for instance. He did indicate jobs were the number one priority. He failed to mention that jobs were also the greatest failure of the UCP so far. #ABLeg #fail #failhard
Allow me to hit Travis' highlights: "Government's role is to provide a business environment that is nimble, predictable...."
What?
Do you mean all this instability you have been fomenting around separation is working against your govt's desire for business predictability? #irony
He then went on to tell the bootstraping tale of how hard work and freedom (really??) made Alberta the "job creation engine of the nation". Well, since Travis has been in, it has been the job destroying trash compactor of the nation. #jobdestroyer #ABleg
Apparently they have not heard of hard work or freedom in Ontario or other provinces. Sort of homage to the Buffalo Defecation brand of revisionist history.

Travis then made a broad over-generalization about what "economists have consistently shown" and job creation. #fail
Then in pension news...
Disturber in chief says this sign at the massive protest rally outside the Legislature door is anti-pipeline. Nope.

This sign refers to Travis' ability to direct pension money into pipeline (or really any oil and gas investment) against the interest of the people whose money it is. #scam His boss the previous day said he would not use AIMCO money, but he didn't say PENSION MONEY.
Travis is allowed by legislation to retain control over the investment of 10% of LAPP, PSPP and SFPP. He is allowed to invest that on his own with no direction from AIMCO. (This is NOT true for ATRF because it is jointly sponsored).

Matt needs to understand that his boss wants to lay pipe so bad he would use money to which he has no beneficial right to use. #laypipe #handsoffmypension Get rid of that pesky fiduciary duty!
Ever since the embarrassing Frontier project cancellation, I suspect there is a secret team in the bowls of the Terrace Building looking for a source of capital for the GOA to buy and execute the project. #communist #dictatorship Free market be damned!
The Edmonton Police officers and the Sheriffs that I talked to were all very interested in what was going on with their pensions. #knowledgeispower #ABLeg
