The problem with Iran is it lies to its own people about the virus. Giving it more money is not going to solve that.
Plus Iran is arguably at war with NATO ally Turkey in Syria. Eased sanctions could lead indirectly to funding the fighting.
Iran seems to have no shortage of money to buy SAMs, ballistic missiles, fund Hezbollah, IRGC, nuclear weapons, swarms of attack boats etc. So why don't they have money for medicine?

It's a little too late for that now.
Maybe Woody still thinks you can have a conversation. But this is what used to be called renunciation: the public, almost ritual disavowal of a great shame, like the casting out of a demon. To some extent it's no longer rational.
People used to understand there were some things you could not talk your way out of, even if it was not quite clear it was entirely your fault. Lord Jim was about precisely this situation. But the concept of dishonor is alien now.

All correct. But to add: Turkey has really no choice but to continue on this path, despite such unfortunate incidents. Standing down in Idlib will be the end of its presence in the more strategic areas it controls close to its borders. The refugee issue remains secondary to that.
I’m gonna guess that Russia has miscalculated here, but I might be wrong

1. It's now 100% clear that #Turkey under @RTErdogan Akar and Fidan is an ISIS affiliate. @POTUS Trump takes money from Turkey and is owned by Erdogan who can blackmail him. But @KremlinRussia_E Putin has more money than Trump or Erdogan could dream of and now has the way
2. to destroy Turkey as potential @NATO threat after ISIS affiliate Erdogan is feeding the worms. A simple demand under the Soviet/Syria Friendship Agreement that Turkey immediately withdraw or face an overwhelming military strike on Turkey's airbases will be effective

No but I was and my husband was. He was blinded and almost killed fighting terrorists. So I have a good idea how terrible war is and don't want one. However, I know that ISIS, al-Qaeda, and other organizations never tire of fighting or wanting to target the west. I'm not saying
war but I am saying not to forget that we can't just walk away from people who want to destroy us and our way of life. They have no problem waiting for us to get too tired of war - and just when we think everything is fine they will strike us again. Let's not give them
sanctuaries to strike us again from safe havens in #Syria #Afghanistan or anywhere. We have to be smarter and more patient. Also, let's not give Russia, Iran or Turkey the upper hand. #sanctions may work but we must be vigilant.
