This #SundayMorning we're asking why the President, who swore an oath to defend & protect Americans, is using government resources to wage war & intimidate his own people.

Shouldn't these resources be deployed to assist with COVID-19 instead?

(2) COVID-19 is a public health emergency & it requires all hands on deck in every government agency. Instead, Trump is funneling precious resources into a racist immigration agenda.

Just 3 days ago 500 more ICE agents were deployed to sanctuary cities.

(3) It's not just boots on the ground that are being squandered. It's funding. The Trump administration continues to raid the coffers of the Pentagon.

These funds are allocated to support the very folks we'll need during an emergency- the National Guard.

(4) Courts have also sided with the administration indicating they can withhold federal funding as they see fit from sanctuary cities.

At a time when local and state government resources will be stretched to the breaking point, this seems egregious.

(5) Incompetence has already hampered the US response to coronavirus, but there's lots Trump could be doing now to reverse course & avert the worst of the crisis.

Instead, he's choosing to obscure the scope of the problem and feed the public lies.

(6) The administration did sign off on a bill allocating $8.3 billion, guaranteed $40 million to each state, to deal with the threat and economic fallout of COVID-19.

But it was much more than the meager amount the administration initially asked for.

(7) How will that funding be spent?
-$3.1 million at the discretion of the HHS secretary
-$950 million dispersed by the CDC to state & local health departments
-$300 million to fund vaccine development & treatment
-$1.25 million for international response

(8) It's a start, but there's lots missing from the funding bill. Including helping everyday Americans who don't have insurance pay for testing and treatment.

Conservative estimates indicate even with insurance getting coronavirus could cost you $3,000.

(9) What should Trump be doing to combat coronavirus? The administration should be...

1: Subsidizing paid sick leave & remote work
2: Making tests widely available
3: Being transparent about data
4: Marshalling the resources of every government agency

(10) Instead, Trump is politicizing the crisis and contributing to the spread of disinformation.

It's a dangerous time to have an incompetent narcissist in the White House and a party who values profits over people controlling our COVID-19 response.
