Several things can be true at once!
1. Coronavirus is spreading in the West despite attempts to contain it;
2. Coronavirus seems to be truly dangerous to those with secondary health conditions and the elderly;
3. Mass popular panic over coronavirus is based on alarmism.
Panic-buying toilet paper is not rational. We all know what we're supposed to do: wash our hands; stay home if we're sick; only burden the medical system if we're seriously ill; avoid gatherings if we're members of vulnerable groups or regularly interact with those who are.
We should take coronavirus seriously, obviously. But buying medical masks for $100 a pop is not a calibrated response to best available information.

If only Elizabeth Warren had been a man then she would have performed...pretty much like Beto O'Rourke, except less so, because at least O'Rourke was from a red state.
She literally received an endorsement from the NYT because she's a woman. She received endless mileage off her (probably false) story of being victimized as a pregnant woman. She played up her gender endlessly on the campaign trail.
The bizarre notion that her gender was a drawback is patently crazy. It is also odd that nobody is saying this stuff about Amy Klobuchar, a far more viable general election candidate with far better credentials.

Bernie Sanders is not a European social democrat. He is an out-and-out Marxist. Upon his return from the USSR in 1988, he celebrated the Soviets moving "forward into some of the early visions of their revolution, what their revolution was about in 1917."
Upon returning from a visit to Cuba, he didn't just praise their literacy program -- he said that the Cuban people "had an almost religious affection" for Castro. Which is pure propaganda, reflected in full fellow-traveller fashion.
Bernie continues to maintain that China has "taken more people out of extreme poverty than any country in history," naturally neglecting that China's limited embrace of market-based reforms -- not Chinese communism -- was responsible for this.

The man who died was not associated w/nursing facility - @DocJeffD says @CDCgov team on the way expected tonight to begin “outbreak” investigation. More cases expected. He again stresses MORE hand washing, less face touching, social distancing @KIRORadio #coronavirus
Right now they are focused on the nursing facility but no widespread community spread yet @DocJeffD says they could get to point where they ask people to telecommute, cancel large gatherings etc. if situation changes, urges everyone to take precautions, stock up on meds

First check to see if they bothered to add any variability whatsoever in the model they are using to supposedly report actual numbers from a complex system.

The mortality rate they want you to report is the - 0 day rate: Today's Confirmed Death total minus Today's Confirmed Case total.

This has not varied outside of 1/10th of 1% in the last 5 prints.

But even a minor adjustment of a few days in the mortality rate paints an entirely different picture

I want to believe in a world where several things can be true at once, and I know Twitter is not this world, but nonetheless several things ARE true at once:
1) Russia meddled in our election with the aim of electing Donald Trump;
2) In a close election, we don't know what effect that had.
3) The fact that it was even close tells you something about America, not Russia.
4) The Trump campaign (Manafort, Don Jr, Roger Stone, Jared) was clearly happy to get all the help it could, no matter where it came from
5) There was a lot Trump did and said in the open vis a vis Russia and Mueller that were bad, and we should expect our Presidents to do better,
6) The Barr letter is not the Mueller report and we still don't know all that much because we haven't seen the Mueller report.
