And Brexit has made the trend worse, because it has simultaneously highlighted these trends, and "legitimised" them via the social proof of knowing many others feel the same way. It is going to take generations to scrub this blot from the national psyche, even *if* we start now!
Epitomised by Michael Portillio's Great Asian Railway Journeys programme. He went to truly fascinating places, but it was a chore to watch (I persevered because it covered so many wonderful destinations) because he kept coming back to Empire Empire Empire.

I feel sorry for the older people not part of this cohort (and there will be MANY MILLIONS who don't identify with it).

Things like Brexit (and this survey) reinforced inter-generational prejudice, and I think too many younger people forget they're far from a homogenous group.
