3. evolved a defense that is identified by the Sickle Cell red blood cell mutation. As I recall it makes hemoglobin a more hostile environment for the Malaria parasite to thrive. So Charles Darwin would likely conclude that the mutation created a small set of survivors who then
4. multiplied and populated the African continent in the period after the first wave of humans moved out of Africa without the mutation. Rather than focus on a drug that I seriously doubt is reaching Africans on a daily basis, look at the connection between Malaria survival and
5. blood abnormalities. The people who die show clotting problems identified by elevated d-dimer tests. I would want to know if the subset of people of African geno-type have the same incidence of Covid19 mortality as non-African and of the African geno-type who contract it,
6. and survived did they have the Cycle Cell genetic marker? It is also my understanding that African Americans over time have a greatly reduced presence of this mutation. But Africans in Africa still show it in significant numbers.
