These coming weeks and months will be the biggest battle of your professional lives and it all comes down to what you do right now.

We’re in hell right now, believe me I have been here before. Now, we can all stay as we are, battered, bruised and scared. Or, we can fight our way back, out into the light. We can climb out of this hell.
I look around and I see your faces, young and not so young and I think, I have never been more proud to be part of the healthcare profession.
In this day and age despite being the most connected we have ever been we have become more isolated and insular than ever before. We need to change that now, more so than we ever have before.
The coming days and weeks will live with you for the rest of your lives. You will see and experience things no person should ever have to. But you will get through it and you will save lives. You are valued, and you are loved for the sacrifices you are making.
Fighting a disease outbreak is a marathon, it is made up of thousands of steps. But you are not running it alone.
When you see your colleagues stumble you need to reach out and pick them up. When you stumble, you need to reach out and ask for that hand up in return. It WILL be there! If it isn't, my hand will be there and you can reach out to me.
You are the difference between life and death and in all the chaos and the pain, do not lose sight of the people, your people. One of the first casualties in this fight is often dignity. The smallest thing can give that dignity back.
