X : How do you know if Wardley Mapping is right?
Me : I know it's not, however I also know it's useful. It saves billions, makes millions and saves lives. That's enough impact for me.
It also costs you nothing but your time to get started - read the book (it's all free) - medium.com/wardleymaps

Try out some mapping, share with others and there is an excellent online resource list maintained by @jhngrant - github.com/wardley-maps-c…
So, if your team is working at home, business is a little bit soft then ... why not get people to learn to map, share internally the maps they create, challenge how the business used to operate and start planning for a different future.
if the business is soft and you have people at home then now is probably the ideal time to be investing in people, to be training new skills, to be challenging how the business used to operate i.e. those serverless efforts you wanted to get around to ... well, go do it.
X : You seem quite harsh on those losing staff.
Me : There's social responsibility but also you want to avoid losing staff if you intend to have a future business.
X : Can't we just hire back?
Me : With a reputation in tatters in fields rife with poaching ...
... right now, there are companies aggressively poaching. You might think you can just cut back and hire later but for some organisations such short term thinking will be the end. By the time the pandemic is over, you'll have new competitors with stronger reputations.
X : Who is hiring?
Me : There are many companies who are hiring. Many in essential areas and some of those are very canny players. If you're going to build a group to attack an industry, then if incumbents are foolishly letting people go - now is the time to be hiring / poaching.
