I have been writing for well on 40 years now: TFT; The Muslim; The Nation; The News; Dawn; and The Express Tribune are all publications I have had the honour to write for. I am a news hound and read the World's press 2/

2/ for 2 hours every single day. Never in all these years of reading and writing have I seen such a #Shameful editorial, the language of which suggests it was written by the Editorial Board which makes it all the more #Disgusting. I am unpleasantly surprised but not gobsmacked3/

3/ because the ET has been on a downward trajectory ever since #Selected @ImranKhanPTI was rigged into power before our very eyes, in broad daylight. Just two examples: ET's bending every muscle to drumbeat and praise the absolutely dumb @asadumar's coldhearted and insensitive 4/

4/ use of the term #CHEMOTHERAPY as the treatment to be given Pakistan's economy because it was 'terminally ill'

5/ tribune.com.pk/story/2092344/…. To 'Chemotherapy' first. Those of us who have seen a loved one undergo Chemo were most hurt and upset at the use of this horrid term used obviously by the worthless price gouger Asad Umar (who was turfed out of ENGRO before he could bankrupt it) to 6/

6/ falsely claim that the economy was in terrible shape when the PTI was #SELECTED to Lord it over us. But worse was the ET running with the term and justifying it by suggesting the economy was 'on a stretcher' when these geniuses took over. It didn't age well, did it? What is 7/

7/ common in these attempts by the ET to back the government is the writer of both the pieces above. Now to the Editorial: Does the ET have no shame suggesting the PMLN should NOT politicise a blatantly political action? And to suggest NAB is apolitical when it jolly well knows8/

8/ that the cases against #ZulfiBukhari @PervezKhattakPK @MoonisElahi6 even #SELECTED @ImranKhanPTI himself are in cold storage?! Look at the title of the Editorial: 'In Trouble Again' as if SK Abbasi is an errant school boy who gets into 'trouble' frequently. Look at the way 9/

9/ the paper describes his 7-Month incarceration during which he was asked NO questions (because his interrogators did not know WHAT questions to ask): 'Pretty Long'! Pretty Long, eh? Pretty Long? Been in a NAB cell for even 7 days Mr. @MBilalLakhani ??10/

10/ Whilst it is scandalous that the paper should ITSELF say the economy was 'on a stretcher' echoing Umar when @MiftahIsmail left office and the brilliances of the PTI took over, it is absolutely despicable for the newspaper to lie! Which is what it did. Pakistan had a 5.8% 11/

11/ growth rate according to The Economist at the time #SELECTED was hoisted into office...RIP Express Tribune...
P.S. Wonder what @MBilalLakhani had to do with the Editorial?
