So in short, people have to choice but go back to work. There is no support for them, they need to fight #COVID19 and poverty, all alone.

That is why you cannot blame these passengers packed in a BRT bus this morning in Tehran. They need to feed their families.
Or these people going to work in a highway 7:35AM this morning in Tehran (9M).

The media only focuses on the fact that people not observing... not why they cannot - that is the real issue here.

You might wonder why they are not using some level of PPE? With bullish rhetoric from officials claiming victory against #COVID19 and lack of masks and gloves or them being very expensive. Yet ignorance is also a factor for some.
Health Ministry also does it share of throwing problem at the public and blaming them.

Their spokesman says if people do not observe social distancing, we will have a peak next week.

How can they observe with no economical safety net.

There are other reports, however, that many businesses remain still closed. This one is from Mashhad (3M).

In a bizarre letter, Dr. Marandi who is personal physician of the Supreme Leader has asked giving information on the progresses in #COVID19 treatment to be stopped from all channels but the spokesman.

Concerns been raised that such treatments reserved for important officials.
Recently, a specialist from Masih Daneshvari hospital which is the centre for #COVID19 stated in a live stream that Favipiravir has worked exceptionally well but the supply has been stopped.

Thereafter, Health Ministry has banned anyone from talking about Favipiravir [not joke]
For those who wonder why many in Iran are not using masks in public, Health Ministry has been saying no need to use masks in public. [as in some other countries]

This advice was removed today and now they are advising people to use face masks in public.

President Rouhani has revised the dates as below:

- Apr 11: businesses opening in everywhere but Tehran
- Apr 11: gov offices opening 7 AM - 2 PM
- Apr 18: businesses opening in Tehran

High-risk businesses (gyms, pools, concerts, etc) stay closed until further notice.
Also 18 April is when schools and universities are expected to open.

No day is complete without the official numbers [although they make little sense to me]:

Cases: 58226 (+2483)
Deaths: 3603 (+151)
Recovered: 22011 (+2275)
Active: 32612 (+57)

Iraqi Militia (Hashdol-Shaabi) were seen yesterday disinfecting streets in Qom (1.2M).

Previously Lebanese Hizbollah were seen on the streets of Iran disinfecting.

Estbalishment has been accused of funding them and perhaps wants to show them as useful.

More pictures of them on the streets of Qom

This is yesterday, central Tehran (9M). Unclear if it is related to #COVID19 but a look into the lives of vulnerable people on the street, scavengers and addicts who will have even less support.

Night shelters for drug addicts have been shut due to the outbreak.
As you know, medical staff are at increased risk and Iran has had a high casualty among them. According official numbers, 96 deaths have been recorded with Gilan (25 deaths) and Tehran (28 deaths) provinces are the two highest.

Today Health Ministry spokesman in an interview criticised the Chinese for their #Covid_19 stats and called it a "bitter joke".

This has angered the Chinese and now there are calls by the hardline base for sacking him.

China is one of the only friends Iran has.
Time to leave you for tonight with this video.

It seems to be from a few days ago and shows #Covid_19 situation in Ecuador. Allegedly, many corpses lie on the street and the public can only burn them.

China has oil/gas investments in Ecuador.

"no" choice
