While reducing GHG emissions is the mantra behind #ClimateEmergency, the demolish/rebuild project toward a global network of surveillance ("smart" cities), operating within a fully digitized economy, will push GHG emissions & ecological destruction to unprecedented levels. 
Planetary boundaries further pushed to the brink.
