So 1970s astrologers founding 1980s software consultancies seems to be a thing. I've found 3 of these companies now.
Para Research, which published Marcia Moore's ketamine book, became an IBM vendor in the 80s. ASI computers was created by the tech director
of ITT and created software and ran a hedge fund based on astrological predictions (found them looking into Ms. Magazine's early investors)
And Robert Hand, who published with Para Research, also became a software consultant in the 1980s, founding 3 software companies.
I guess there was a really high demand in the 1970s for highly complex and accurate astrological charts that needed computers to be made.
The success of Booz Allen selling compromised astrology software to Nkrumah and Sukarno notwithstanding.
"Celebrity Astrologer" and "High Level Technology Consultant" circa 1977 were pretty small populations. Big Venn diagram overlap though.
Another Michael Erlewine, founder of AllMusic and developer of the first microcomputer astrology software - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_E…
Joan Quigley, Nancy Reagan's Astrology, used a custom-built astrology computer. I wonder who built it? beyondsunsigns.com/images/predict…
If UFO's were a cover for something like stealth aircraft then astrology was a cover for something like insider trading maybe?
(i mean plus the admitted-to cases of using faked astrological charts to manipulate heads of state)
if you've been following along, theres some interesting stuff in that Nicki Michaels interview. Another Human Potential alum.
Her astrology supposedly predicted the day the US hostages would be released from Iran which we now know was planned in advance.
Ah, here's Nicki Michaels' Astrology Computer - the Digicomp DR-70 Astrology Minicomputer computerhistory.org/collections/ca…
So Michaels got her start at Human Potential Research Inc, which as I said earlier links back to Esalen and the CIA's drug program.
Seemed to be kind of a factory for political advisers. Hillary Clintons' guru Jean Houston also came from here. newspapers.com/image/99463700…
"Human Potential Research Inc." seems to have come and gone - the only possible active employee I could find was a guy in Hanoi.
("Human Potential" was a movement among MK-connected psychologists in the 1960s- they spun off several corporations using the name)
Human Potential Research Inc used their Dial-an-Astrologer service to make money for their newspapers.com/image/2141329/…
long-range statistical research. It was run by Bill Brown, a former Merrill Lynch banker who wanted government regulation of astrology.
Digging around for some history on the DR-70 Astrology Computer and found this totally legitimate Astrology study at UC Berkeley.
The DR 70 Astrology Computer was made by Digicomp Research Corp, which had some interesting side projects smallbizdev.cornell.edu/companies/digi…
"MiG Emulator" - I'm sure that's the kind of thing you can just throw together after reading some Jane's and Tom Clancy novels.
AN/TYQ-23 Tactical Air Operations Modules (TAOM) - mobile command-and control bunkers for antiaircraft defense militaryaerospace.com/articles/print…
Is it an Astrology Computer? Or a satellite uplink for the SAM radars? That's classified.
If you want some more technical info on the DR-70 Astrology Computer, it's here mwigan.com/mrw/10_S-100_C…
CIA's Covert Political Ops Director Miles Copeland Jr describing how CIA used astrologers to trick heads of state
Here's the ketamine memoir by astrologer Marcia Moore that sent me down this rabbit hole pdf.textfiles.com/books/journeys…
Marcia Moore's sister was Robin Moore, who organized US mercenaries in Rhodesia
Their dad traded the Sheraton Hotel chain for a major stake in ITT, so I figured anything connected with the family was worth researching.
This was one of those threads where I started off looking at something on a hunch, took a tangent, and ended up finding something relevant
that ended up fitting a larger pattern of something I've been investigating, in this case that radar target spoofing and astrology were
connected through a common information warfare program, and that "Occultism in High Places" as a strategy to manipulate heads of state was
also being run thru the same network that was building classified command-and-control hardware ("MiG Emulators") for the USAF.
To put it another way, Nancy Reagan's astrologer was getting her charts generated by bespoke Air Force hardware.
The DR 70 Astrology Computer used "custom astrological firmware" - which means a firmware upgrade could have compromised the calculations
used to generate those star charts in a way that would encourage Quigley to recommend certain things to Reagan.
Look at how many layers of compartmentalization there were: Ronald Reagan->Nancy Reagan ->Joan Quigley -> Nicki Michaels -> Digicomp -> USAF
Only that last link in the chain - Digicomp the military hardware manufacturer would require overt agents w/ clearances to be involved.
Everything else could be set into motion through the compromised firmware on the computer and each person in the chain being a trusted party
to the next person down the chain who they were in communication with. Object-oriented message passing.
