Depression is a combination of factors, different for everyone, some biological, some environmental, that can be tricky to unpack.
Let me tell you, @Cobratate, the last thing someone, like me, who once sat on a train platform thinking about ending his life, is lazy.
When you're suffering a depressive episode, everything takes four or five times the effort, yet people turn up to work, carry on living.
People don't seek the help they need - proper medical treatment with a GP - because jackasses like you tell them they're lazy & weak.
Suicide is the most common cause of death for men between 20 and 49, and roughly 5,000 people will kill themselves this year.
When you imply that the key to fixing depression is a simple choice, you contribute to the toxic environment that kills.
