Readers of this feed knew this "breaking news" five months ago, when the intelligence community SAID Page did this. nytimes.com/2017/11/03/us/…
/ So all that happened here is Page CONFESSED to doing something he knew he *had* to confess to because the U.S. IC already knew about it.
/ What I'd like to know is why it wasn't "breaking news" when the intelligence community *told us* Carter Page met with Russian officials.
/ "Steele Dossier Confirmed on Key Point" is the headline here. Many of us have been saying the dossier's largely accurate for a long time.
/ Which means the large number of us who embrace the dossier as largely reliable have considered Page to have done this since January 2017.
/ The media should use this moment to reconsider its coverage of the dossier. Remember, there are *witnesses* to that Ritz Moscow "event."
/ At some point enough of the dossier has been proven accurate that the media has to start looking at the research out there on the "tape."
/ If we're now revisiting the dossier, which we damn well should, media might consider starting with this thread:
/ The Trump-Russia conspiracy is a) criminal, but also b) amateur hour. Page could sink all of them & he's walking around without a lawyer?
/ Carter Page is key because Sessions knew about his July 2016 Moscow trip *and* that it was *the follow-up* to the Papadopoulos emails.
/ The key line here—Papadopoulos email (3/24) to TIHDC NatSec meeting (3/31) to the Mayflower (4/27) to Trump Tower (6/9) to Moscow (7/5).
