The smart thing to do today is the same as it was yesterday.

Look at the evidence. What does Brexit means for the country? Is it in the national interest? /1
If new evidence shows it's not in the national interest, if public opinion turns against it, then obviously we shouldn't do it. /2
The Government pretends there's no turning back. But the Government is clearly and demonstrably wrong (goo.gl/RSjYG1). /3
David Davis can say Remaining "is not available to us" all he likes. But each of the Commission, the Council and the Parliament says we can remain. /4
Here is what the European Parliament says: we can remain with agreement. (europarl.europa.eu/RegData/etudes…) /5
Here is what the European Commission says: we cannot remain unilaterally - but we can remain with agreement. /6
Here is the position of the European Council (as reported by The Times): we can remain with agreement. /7
And that's not just the position of the EU institutions. It is also the position of many of the Member States. /8
Here is the position of the Luxembourg Prime Minister: Article 50 is not irreversible, the EU door will remain open until the last minute (express.co.uk/news/politics/…). /9
Here is the position of the French President, Emmanuel Macron: "there is always a chance to reopen the door." (theguardian.com/politics/2017/…) /10
Here is the position of the German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schäuble: "if they wanted to change their decision, of course, they would find open doors." (independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…) /11
And here's the position of the President of the Council, Donald Tusk: “It is in fact up to London how this will end -- with a good deal, no deal or no Brexit". (bloomberg.com/news/articles/…).
I could go on. There are other examples too.

The Government should not shut the door on the national interest. And it cannot shut the door on the national interest. /ENDS
