It's easy to forget the problems around brexit when news is short. So here's a quick summary of key issues ahead for the Government and the deal. #fbpe

Firstly, the NI border. Pretty much everyone except the Government, including Parliament's EU Select Committee, thinks that the only solution is for NI or the entire UK to stay in the SM and CU, breaking remaining red lines. theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/f…
Secondly, other borders. Customs checks need infrastructure that is not in place, and would cause massive tailbacks. Is the Government prepared to risk food shortages and wreck manufacturing? Again SM/CU only answer.

Next, EU agencies. UK now wants to stay in medicines, checmicals, flight safety, space agencies but it's not clear that's on offer if we leave. No contingency plans in place, no time anyway. uk.reuters.com/article/us-bri…
Then there's Euratom, which we don't wish to stay in, for some reason. Again no time to get our own agency ready. Risks to cancer care, research projects, power station spare parts news.sky.com/story/mps-dema…
If plans to stay in EU agencies don't work out, or cross too many red lines, will the government really put our health, flights, and energy security at risk? Would Parliament? Wouldn't we finally take to the streets?
Supply of overseas labour is a problem. Here is industry lining up to say that moving all overseas workers onto existing non-EU arrangements would cause major problems, red tape, disruption. Factories, nursing homes shutting. gov.uk/government/col…
Problems in parliament are looking tricky: both in the Lords, and in bringing business forward in the Commons. Telling thread from @YvetteCooperMP.
Brexit is by no means 'on course' or 'looking reasonable'. There are issues that could derail it entirely, disrupt it in Parliament, or make it just too unattractive to continue. When talks start up again and Parliament returns, there will soon be plenty more reasons to #Remain.
Worth noting that Parliament’s exiting the EU committee just issued success criteria that cover all these issues: free trade with EU, no border checks, alignment on standards. Also highlights security issues publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201719/cm…
