Given the history of Republican Secretaries of State making untrue claims about nefarious activity by countries in the Iran-Iraq region, and what happened afterwards, you should have some extremely serious concerns about Pompeo's nomination. Get ready for a fight, folks. 1/

Senators shouldn't fear the appearance of inconsistency. It is a righteous act of principle to vote against Pompeo for State even having voted to confirm him for CIA. Why? B/c now we've seen how he conducts himself in appointed roles: baselessly cheerleading for lethal action.

Back on January 23, 2017, when 14 Senate Ds voted to confirm Pompeo, it was the first Monday after Trump was sworn in. Lots of Ds were still giving Trump the benefit of the doubt. He's burned through that now. Ds need to think hard about enabling an advocate for Trumpian war.

Ds should express their concerns and opposition publicly *now.* There's no reason to let Rand Paul be the only Senator explaining what a terrible pick Pompeo is. Pompeo's hearing is scheduled for next Thu, Apr 12. He's slick. Don't let him define the narrative—get out in front.

Nearly all the Senate Ds who voted to confirm Pompeo also voted to uphold the Iran nuclear deal, which makes America—and the world—far safer. Pompeo wants to rip it up. If you want to defend the Iran nuclear deal, to prevent nuke proliferation and avert war, #RejectPompeo.
