Fact 1: in the early 1900’s rich women & their children died at far higher rates than did the poor, because of common sense midwives, while rich had doctors w/o the sense to wash their hands, & tried to use & justify the cost of new (unnecessary) devises and surgeries.

Medical journals (for advertisers) print positive opines, but not negative ones. Indeed, many ‘studies’ R written by PR firms, not by the doctors who sign them. Yet neither are punished. One example. In 2003 the Justice Dept. sued for GSK for exactly this, for Paxil, for $3B.
Yet none of the doctors, nor the medical journal (which happens to be the same one promoting the current NBC lie) was fined or punished. All should have lost their licenses, and yet some are still involved it the same drivel today.
And worst of all, in virtually every state, doctors’ continuing education is based on reading these pretended medical journals. In other words, most primary doctors know as much about medicine as you remember from your high school German or Spanish.
Conclusion: 1) Antidepressants are garbage; 2) Most primary care doctors are incompetent; 3) Most psychiatrists are America’s leading drug pushers, should be treated as such. Imprisoned for a very long time.
So, we get NBC Evening News the last 2 nights, saying “20% kids age 13 to 19 have a diagnosable mental, social or emotional disorder, per to the CDC.” That report is talking about cigarettes, alcohol and illegal drug use. So. the shrinks answer is to load them up legal drugs.
Children go through a major growth spurt, coupled with the first surge and overwhelming feeling of hormones. It is a period for understanding, friendships and parenting, not drug-pushing psychiatrists and pills.
NBC owe an apology to the nation and its parents and youth for presenting such garbage as fact. As to doctors, except for specialists, you are better off with a midwife.
