Many Republicans - including Hatch, Cornyn, Kennedy - insist Trump won’t fire Mueller - while sending rhetorical brushback pitches warning of dire consequences for his presidency if he does.
Grassley also mentioned the word “impeachment” today, though in a bit larger context of special counsels not just Mueller.

Mike Lee led long attack on constitutionality of independent counsels / cited prior Scalia dissent. Noted many previous court rulings were incorrect but remain on the books, points to Korematsu (Japanese internment ruling). Will be int’g fodder if he is nominated for SCOTUS.
