This is the tweet that got me blacklisted by the last government. Being blacklisted meant that they kept tabs & can deny me jobs. For eg: I got asked to host a travel show for Go Asean TV. Gov representation wrote the company to say I tweeted against them and cannot be hired.
With things like that happening, I guess over the years I retreated into some creative solitude. I was still creating and writing but it just felt uncomfortable. Second guessing your work for yourself is healthy but second guessing it for someone else feels rubbish.
And this is coming from me. I'm not even a political satirist/pundit/clever person. I'm just the resident-fat-boy-emotional-human-experience-introverted-comedian-story-telling-goof. And being 'told' "we're watching you" affected me and my work negatively.
I hope with the new government, no one has to feel that muted anymore. We all want everyone to be responsible for their words/voices but only when people get to use their them will they have a chance to also learn responsibility. I hope the government gives us that chance too.
What I'm trying to say is I think I feel in love again. It feels like the government and I are going through puberty together. Our voices are cracking, but soon we will have that sweet sweet sound baby. So I'm going to try having fun as I squeak my way back to you guys! <3 end.
Sorry! Un-end. Let me just show you the email. I shouldn't have received this but my guess is the company intern wrote it & didn't know better. Also note the date. My kangkung tweet was in Jan 2014. This email is dated July 2015. That's what blacklist feels like. 
I kept the email because it made me shocked and then sad (also its an email, who deletes emails anymore what are you a dodoface?) But I never thought I would ever have the courage to show it to anyone! Today I did & this courage is all you, Malaysia! So thank you!
