Oggi ĆØ lā€™anniversario dellā€™entrata in vigore della #Legge185 del 1990 che regola lā€™export di #armamenti italiani: norma importante che dovrebbe essere maggiormente considerata e valutata dal Parlamento.

Love how marketing and tech types criticize Apple for running its company like a business. They seem to mistake Tim Cook as the chair of the FTC.
ā€œRandom anonymous unregulated third-party vendors ought to be able to collect and transact data covertly and opaquely but Apple has its own profits and shareholder value in mind! What gives?ā€
Marketing and tech people literally cannot get their head around the notion that Apple does not need to mine personal data to make obscene profits. They seem to have forgotten how businesses models work otherwise.

4% opt-in rate. Imagine so-called 'cookie banners' would have been *strictly* required to honestly ask users from the beginning, many years ago. Clear language that describes how personal data is linked and sold across many parties. Easy to decline.

They wouldn't exist anymore.
They wouldn't exist anymore, and the whole digital economy would have developed radically differently.

Unfortunately, society and political representatives did not intervene and let 'the market' (=adtech lobbyists, big tech and publishers) shape it.
Lawmakers, and also authorities and courts, must consider the economic and societal effects of 'consent' requirements, beyond the individual-level perspective.

Senator Durbin will introduce for the Cleans Slate for Kids Online act - legal right to demand to delete all personal data collected under Age of 13. Every kid needs a reset button. But honestly, every human deserves this right. #datarights
Monica Bikert of FB touts newsfeed controls incl. disabling algorithmically ranked feed in favor of a reverse chronology of ā€œeligible contentā€ ā€” but of course this begs the question as to why the latter is not the default and the ranked feed is the option. #PublicInterestInternet

So, in the end it took almost 3 extra weeks to get internet service at our new address. Iā€™ll talk about it in several threads; this one is a story of customers as parts and work on phone lines as parts.
Originally, we were supposed to have AT&T internet service when we arrived on June 26, but it was July 15 before it was actually working. As before, each person I spoke to was trying to be helpful. So what happened, and what does it suggest about how things could be better?
There were two things needed for the installation ā€” router equipment at the house, and a line from the central office to the house carrying the internet signal.

This just happened, so hereā€™s a thread on not-great customer experience. All of the sales and service folks I interacted with were decent, polite, and hard-working, and
I really appreciated their efforts. @ATT #ATT
I suggest that the problems are with the processes and systems. This is a thread on how VPs, CIOs, and CEOs might think differently, so that, eventually, the customer experience would be better. Surprisingly, this should also save money.
@ATT, Iā€™m not asking for a point-by-point response to each of the problems. There will be a resolution on Tuesday, Iā€™m confident. Part 2 of this thread talks about the underlying problems. Iā€™m much more interested in what you and others might think about that.
