My 🇳🇴 and 🇭🇷 room mates were looking at me a bit bewildered. Yet for months, a friend of mine @YaleLawSch with extensive experience in the Middle East kept telling me that the 🇺🇸 government would invade. I did not believe her. She had been right. /2
I was spending a year at @Yale studying international relations and security, the most intellectually rewarding time I’ve ever experienced.

Like thousands of others, I was sold to the US for bounty money, sent to a black site where I was tortured & then sent to Guantanamo. I was only 18 years old. I wasn’t a fighter. I wasn’t al Qaeda leader or Taliban.
At Guantanamo, I met farmers who were sold by neighbors who wanted their land. I met charity workers, teachers, engineers, all kinds of men who were sold as fighters.

3/ It is astounding that even though the defendant's conversations with his lawyers were spied upon and the prosecuting team is revealed to have conspired to kill / harm the defendant, the trial continues without any impediment.
