A golden oldie for this weeks repost:

It’s difficult trusting the process and accepting that success is earned over prolonged periods of consistency.

When we have bad sessions or bad weeks, we can often let it affect us.

We double down on training, play catch up with missed sessions, add extra onto sessions which weren’t planned for, and this can lead to performance being affected even more or worst case, injury.

When injured, a bad day or weeks rehab can make the wheels fall off and we sabotage ourselves even more.

If you’ve had a bad week or a bad day, or progress simply hasnt been as fast as you wished it was, reflect on the last month, last 6 weeks and look for the

I'm still thinking a lot about the #Endurance discovery this week - so if you are craving a bit more Endurance/Shackleton/shipwreck - here are a few things for you ... 🧵
Start with having another look at the ***AMAZING*** footage from the dive - this is the piece that ran on BBC News made with top team @alisonfrancis and @DuncanCStone
And here is @thehistoryguy podcast - he was with the @Endurance22 team when they made the discovery (the lucky devil!) - you can hear his take on it here…

Huge congratulations to @Endurance_22 and @NatGeo for finding the wreck of #Shackleton’s #Endurance. The wreck is amazing but can we also talk about some of the #Antarctic sea floor creatures that now call it home! Add any others you spot to the thread! (1) ImageImage
Huge #Antarctic sea anemones (Hormathia or similar) dangle their tentacles in the icy water! All of the animals that I have spotted so far are filter feeding! (2) ImageImageImageImage
Sea squirts pump water in and out through their two syphons to collect plankton and marine snow (dead things and poo raining down from the surface). (3) ImageImage

“Last Diwali to this Diwali: Summary of Momentum Investments/ Trades taken (#MostlyMomentum)!!”:

Introduction of my journey so far:
I started my #StockMarket journey Jul- 2016:

•During 2016-17, as a typical new investor, started with TV Tips, and IPOs,
this (IPOs) helped in a way, best #DMART has still been the best of IPOs I applied for, got allotment, and kept for couple of months and captured fastest 282% of my #StockMarket journey.

• During 2017-18, decided not to go after TV Tips,
and started doing something on my own including a little Option “BUYING” 12, lost some funds in Option Buying, but gained a lot of experience regarding not to so something you don’t know. Alongside this, also started exploring cash market strategies of buying what is going up and

I was asked a brilliant Q today in an online chat with some newly qualified coaches.

What’s the key to success in endurance sports??

A thread……

#ukrunchat #uktrichat #success #endurance #physio
It didn’t take me long to answer to be honest, I think it’s the same secret for all sports (and life in general!)

the key is simply to be consistent over a prolonged period - sustained / maintained consistency.

The successful athletes, and by that I mean relative success to the individual, not necessarily podium finishes per se, is that they are world class at doing the basics, rather than being basic at the world class things.

‘Although proportionately scarce, exercise may paradoxically trigger sudden cardiac arrest in individuals with #cardiovascular disease (CVD), particularly those who were previously sedentary or have advanced CVD.’
‘In parallel with the drive to promote #exercise in all individuals, physicians will be confronted with an increasing number of enquiries from individuals with established risk factors for coronary artery disease or established CVD about participation in exercise‘
‘Such consultations need to strike a balance between the multiple benefits of #exercise, the small risk of sudden death, and the patient’s goals for cardiorespiratory fitness & ongoing participation in relatively strenuous exercise following a #cardiovascular diagnosis.’

I have been receiving requests to write about When to sell a stock/ investment ? #Whentosell

I’m writing this thread based on when I sell and logic behind the selling an investment

1. I sell when my investment thesis is wrong or the investment is playing out for wrong reasons
I invested in a few pharma companies with a hypothesis that #USFDA issues, pricing issues will be sorted and growth return to normal, but currently pharma has given me > 100 % returns for wrong reasons which I did not hypothesise #Covid19
2. I sell when my research or my analysis is wrong

In 2016 I invested in #Tarajewels based on #Graham net net, I was on a 30% profit, when i reanalyzed I found I missed to take into account #contingentliabilities and sold the position.

0/ On #rebooting or starting again

Why is it so difficult to start again. A thread on #running, #startups and #founders.

Understanding founder mindset through road running.
1/ The difference between #stamina, #endurance and speed endurance

Stamina, the ability to perform a task at certain capacity, rate or pace.

Like running 5km in 30 minutes or 10km in 60.

Stamina is focused on maintaining a rate or pace for a certain duration or time
2/ Endurance is the maximum time you can sustain an activity without worrying about pace or rate.

Like going for a long slow run. Here distance or pace is not important. Maximizing time on road is.

Liking a 90 minute run. Focus on 90 minutes. Not distance or pace.
