Here are other things The Sun says Trump said in the interview, including more criticism of London’s mayor. (Note of caution: it’s The Sun, worth waiting for full transcripts.) thesun.co.uk/news/6766531/t…
The Sun has posted Trump's quotes at length. He said Sadiq Khan has done a "very bad job on crime" and "very bad job on terrorism." thesun.co.uk/news/6766531/t…
Trump on immigration: "I think it changed the fabric of Europe and, unless you act very quickly, it’s never going to be what it was...I think you are losing your culture. Look around. You go through certain areas that didn’t exist ten or 15 years ago.”
Trump talked about the Trump Baby Blimp! On why he's not spending much time in London: “I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London...when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?"
Man. Trump repeated his false claim about how polls show he's the most popular Republican with Republicans, ever (Bush was higher) -- then added, "Beating Lincoln. I beat our Honest Abe." They...did not do scientific popularity polls of Republicans in 1861.
It's worth noting that Trump said *this morning* that it was not for him to weigh in on Brexit. He's gone from "it's not for me to say" to "I would have done it much differently" in less than 12 hours.
For the fifth time, Trump lied that he "predicted Brexit" the day before the vote while in Scotland. He was not in Scotland the day before, he was there the day after. Day before, he didn't make a prediction at all; said he was pro-Brexit but hadn't been paying much attention.
Trump said Boris Johnson "would be a great prime minister" while bashing May and saying "I am not pitting one against the other."
For the second time today, Trump falsely said the U.S. is spending 4.2% of GDP on defence: “Two per cent isn’t enough. The US pays 4.2% of a much larger GDP." It's at an 3.5%, was at 3.6% last year, according to NATO official figures.
Finally, I promise, here is how The Sun said he reacted to their gift of an England football jersey: “Oh wow. I love gifts." “You don’t hear the word England as much as you should. I think England is a beautiful name.”
What Trump actually said, on Fox, not in Scotland, the day before Brexit: "I don't think anybody should listen to me because I haven't really focused on it very much, but my inclination would be to get out."
