Palestinian-Israeli poet, photographer, and activist Dareen Tatour was arrested in 2015 and charged with “incitement to terrorism and support for terrorist organizations.”

Her crime was sharing social media posts and a video of herself reading a poem.

Prosecutors apparently relied on a police officer’s misleading translation of the controversial and layered Arabic words used in Tatour’s poetry.
