I lived at home, my mom was out. We were in my bedroom. I knew him for months. What began as kissing, escalated a bit further, but I had wanted to call it a night. He wouldn't take no for an answer. He threw me down on my bed, & pinned my arms behind my head. 2/4
I was in shock. He became more aggressive. I was scared, but I just froze. He was laying on top of me and trying to get a response, but I didn't move, didn't fight. And then, he stopped. He got up & put his clothes on. Neither of us said a word. He left. I bolted the door. 3/4

The #AffordableCareAct is the comprehensive health care reform law enacted in March 2010 (sometimes known as #ACA or #Obamacare). The #ACA is NOT insurance. It is a LAW that stipulates, in part, what insurance companies provide in their #healthcare plans.

Here's the first page of the lawsuit seeking to declare our health care protections unconstitutional. AG Hawley didn't have to join this lawsuit, but he chose to, on behalf of his state. 2/
Here's the part that says the #ACA protects #PreExistingConditions, makes sure people can't be charged more for them, and requires that insurers cover essential health benefits.

That's the part that keeps our kids alive and our families out of bankruptcy. 3/

The @CDCgov cites 133M as the number of chronically-ill Americans who have #cancer, like I do, or another illness that impedes their daily lives.

The majority of that 40% of the US population still have to work despite often disabling illness because we cannot afford not to.

I've been writing about #healthcare in America since I was a cub reporter and put on a small story in the mid-80s that turned into a much bigger story: #AIDS.

When you're in your 20s writing about other 20somethings dying, it changes you.

Then I got #breastcancer at 26.
